Chapter 430 - 429: The Best Cautionary Example
Judy Zimmerman flipped through the notebook in her hand and continued, "Oh right, it’s Director Simons’ movie."
"Director Simons?" Bella Acker was taken aback, "You mean the one who’s shot many famous films?"
"Yeah." Judy nodded, "Ms. Young has lots of connections and resources, and right now, she’s only managing one artist—you. She definitely wouldn’t randomly find a small-time director for you to work with. But I heard Director Simons is very strict about casting. Even if there’s a personal recommendation, he won’t use someone whose acting isn’t up to par. So, Ms. Young is bringing you over under the guise of a gathering; it’s likely also an audition."
"I should prepare well before going, then." Bella nodded.
The two chatted as they walked into the elevator, heading to the training room on the sixth floor.
It was still quite early, but there were already plenty of people in the training room. Walking down the hallway, Bella noticed that the facility had various rooms—one dedicated to yoga, others for learning poses and walking techniques, essentially everything one might need.
"Bella, this is your classroom." Judy gently knocked on a door, saying, "This is a small classroom, usually only accommodating two or three students."
The door opened, and an elegantly dressed teacher in a cheongsam smiled and nodded at the two of them, looking at Bella, "Are you Ms. Acker?"
"Hello, teacher. I’m sorry we’re late." Bella bowed slightly and greeted the teacher politely.
The teacher laughed, "Class doesn’t start for another ten minutes, so you’re not late. Come on in."
"Thank you, teacher." Bella entered the classroom.
Judy didn’t follow inside, "Bella, I’ll pick you up at ten."
"Okay, you go on with your work." Bella nodded.
Judy left, and Bella followed the teacher inside, pushing aside some hanging drapes in the classroom.
Rhonda, wearing the same style cheongsam, saw Bella walk in and smirked slightly, "Bella, what a coincidence, we meet again."
Bella noticed Rhonda in the classroom and barely perceptibly furrowed her brows.
The teacher smiled and introduced them, "Ms. Acker, this is my other student, Rhonda. I’ll be teaching just the two of you for the time being. I hope we’ll get along well."
Rhonda was the first to speak, "Don’t worry, teacher. I know Bella, we’ll get along just fine and won’t trouble you."
As long as Rhonda didn’t cause trouble, Bella naturally wouldn’t provoke her.
Bella also smiled, "I’ll be relying on the teacher during this period."
Seeing the time was about right, the teacher smiled, "There are some cheongsams for students over there. Ms. Acker, please change into one, and we’ll be ready to start class."
"Alright." Bella picked out a moon-white cheongsam embroidered with silver-gray peonies edged in black from the rack and went to the changing room.
The teacher then said, "Rhonda, do you have any issues with Ms. Acker?"
"Sort of," Rhonda smiled, "Why? Worried I’ll disrupt your class?"
"You know I didn’t mean it like that," the teacher said, "But remember what I’ve taught you before: smart people never show their real emotions and intentions on their face. This Ms. Acker might seem harmless, but she’s not stupid. Be careful not to end up being pecked while trying to hunt."
"Of course." Rhonda chuckled, "Vivian Norris is the best cautionary tale. I wouldn’t make the same mistake. Besides, the person backing her isn’t someone an ordinary person could afford to take on. I won’t be as foolish as Vivian Norris."
