Warm Married Life: Mr. President Loves His Darling Wife

Chapter 432 - 431: Protecting Her

Chapter 432 - 431: Protecting Her

Wasn’t Senior Quinn supposed to be filming "Brocade River and Mountain" at the photography base? Why is he back in Creston? And he’s showing up here?

Bella was puzzled, but seeing Archer Quinn made her happy and relieved.

At gatherings like this, having familiar faces makes it more comfortable and relaxed.

"No problem, no problem, I know you well. If it weren’t for unforeseen circumstances, you wouldn’t be late. Sit down." Ms. Young apologized, but Director Simons wasn’t angry, and invited them in with a smile.

Once seated, Archer Quinn smiled, "Bella, didn’t expect to see me here, did you?"

Bella also smiled, "Yes. Senior Quinn, isn’t your filming on a tight schedule? Why are you back in Creston? Do you have other appointments?"

"Hmm, I have a cover shoot." Archer Quinn smiled gently as he poured her a glass of warm water, perfectly hiding the bitterness in his eyes.

The so-called cover shoot was just an excuse; he simply hadn’t seen her for too long and was eager to do so.

But he couldn’t utter these words, nor let her sense the emotions in his eyes.

Because there was someone she liked, and he didn’t want to make things difficult for her.

"Thank you." Bella thanked him and took the warm water, asking, "When are you leaving?"

Archer Quinn replied, "Leaving tonight."

"That’s pretty abrupt." Bella felt some regret; she had hoped to hang out with Senior Quinn.

Director Simons chimed in with a laugh, "Alright, everyone’s here. Let’s start serving the dishes."

While dishes were being served, Cynthia Young introduced Bella to the others in the private room. Besides Archer Quinn and Director Simons, there was a producer and a scriptwriter.

With this setup, the purpose of the gathering was more than evident.

Though Bella had prepared herself before coming, she still felt somewhat nervous.

After all, filming a TV drama is quite different from shooting a movie, and Director Simons was such a renowned director. Ms. Young must’ve worked hard to get her this trial opportunity; she didn’t want to waste it.

Once the dishes were served, Ms. Young poured herself three glasses of whiskey and said, "I’m late today and kept you all waiting, so I’ll drink these three glasses as a self-punishment." Saying this, she boldly downed three glasses of whiskey in one go.

She was decisive and efficient, without any hesitation. Even after three glasses of whiskey, Cynthia Young’s face didn’t change a bit.

Bella was quite impressed; if she drank three glasses like that, she’d probably be dizzy in no time.

While she was mulling over this, Cynthia Young poured three more glasses, placing them in front of her.

Cynthia Young said, "Bella, you need to drink three glasses too."

This was one drink she couldn’t refuse.

Bella stood up, didn’t say a word, and drank all three glasses.

"Cough! Cough!" She drank too fast and ended up choking.

Bella coughed twice, her cheeks flushed.

Archer Quinn quickly brought her a small bowl of sea cucumber and pigeon soup, gently saying, "Why are you drinking so quickly when you can’t handle alcohol? Director Simons and the others are not outsiders; they won’t really blame you. Drink some soup; your stomach will feel better."

Director Simons laughed heartily upon hearing this and said, "Hahaha, Ms. Acker is quite straightforward, but someone cares for her." He glanced at Archer Quinn with a teasing smile.

Of course he cared, but he couldn’t say it.

Archer Quinn smiled, "Director Simons, if you choke on three glasses of strong liquor, I’ll care for you too. If you don’t believe me, try drinking three glasses, and I’ll pour them for you." Saying this, he indeed went to pour the drinks.
