Warm Married Life: Mr. President Loves His Darling Wife

Chapter 409 - 408: The Eyes of Others

Chapter 409 - 408: The Eyes of Others

Old Mr. Langdon spoke very politely, but his meaning was clear.

Men needed privacy for business discussions, and it wasn’t quite appropriate for Bella to stay here as a female companion.

At that moment, Old Mr. Langdon beckoned, and a woman who looked around thirty approached.

Bella Acker put on her on-set demeanor, slightly nodded with a smile, and said, "Thank you, Mr. Langdon."

She said this while gently tugging at Damian’s sleeve and whispered, "I’ll go over there. Come find me after you’re done."

"Okay." Damian Sinclair nodded, "Don’t wander around. I’ll be there shortly."

"Alright." Bella replied with a smile, nodded at the people around her, and then followed the woman towards the area with drinks and beverages.

As soon as Bella left, someone jokingly asked, "President Sinclair, who was that lady just now?"

"My girlfriend." Damian Sinclair replied, "She doesn’t usually like attending social events, but she came today to keep me company."

Everyone present noticed Damian Sinclair’s different attitude towards Bella, but they hadn’t expected her to be his girlfriend.

They all knew the unspoken rules; who didn’t have a few lovers or bedmates? Even the most prudish ones might have one or two confidantes outside. So the person who asked was just trying to tease Damian a bit and maybe chat to build rapport.

Nobody expected Damian to directly say Bella was his girlfriend, catching everyone by surprise, leaving them momentarily speechless.

It was Old Mr. Langdon who broke the ice, "Hahaha, that young lady seems nice, and Damian always had good taste. Come on, let’s drink and not talk about this."

"Yes, yes, yes, we’re all waiting to taste Mr. Langdon’s creations."

The others followed Mr. Langdon’s lead, and the atmosphere livened again.

The woman brought by Mr. Langdon led Bella to the drinks area, smiling, "Help yourself."

"Thank you," Bella smiled and thanked her.

The woman said nothing more and turned away.

Once she left, Bella’s smile faded.

These gatherings hosted the rich and powerful, people with status, and without Damian, Bella wouldn’t have even gotten past the door.

No wonder the woman summoned by Mr. Langdon remained distant, even if courteous due to her association with Damian, clearly looking down on her status.

Bella had anticipated such things, but experiencing it in reality still stung. In their eyes, she was probably just a sparrow trying to clutch onto Damian to become a phoenix.

"Hmph! If it weren’t for Damian, who would bother dealing with you people?" Bella muttered, grabbing a pink drink, unsure if it was alcohol or not, and gulped it down.

After finishing, Bella smacked her lips, finding the pink drink sweet and tasty, so she grabbed another one to drink.

With Damian occupied, she might as well eat.

Bella stayed in a corner by herself, drinking and munching on snacks, coldly observing the people around her chatting and laughing.

She lived in a different social sphere than them, sharing no common ground.

Ah, it would have been nice if Sandra Woods and Bella were here; she wouldn’t be so bored.

Bella pouted and grabbed another drink.
