Chapter 406 - 405: Today Is Your Birthday

The next morning, Bella Acker didn’t wake up until after noon.

The other side of the bed was already empty. Bella propped herself up and found that her whole body was sore, as if she had been run over by a car.

"Achoo!"

A big sneeze made Bella’s whole body get goosebumps.

"Could I really have caught a cold? That would be too unfortunate." Bella rubbed her nose, lifted the blanket, and got out of bed to leave the room.

The living room was quiet, but the study door was slightly ajar.

Bella opened the door and went in, finding Damian working inside as expected.

Hearing the noise, Damian looked up, "Awake?"

"Yeah." Bella wandered over, glanced at the computer on his desk, and asked, "Damian, aren’t you going to the office today?"

"No." Damian closed his laptop and stood up, "Go wash up and change clothes, I’m taking you out to eat shortly."

"Didn’t we have a lot of leftovers from last night? We could just make do with those and have noodles." Bella suggested.

"Today’s your birthday." With a small woman who always thought about saving money for him, Damian felt a bit helpless, "Besides, I’ve already booked a restaurant."

"Alright then." Bella shrugged, "I’ll go wash up."

Damian pulled her wrist and kissed her forehead, "No rush, take your time."

"Okay." Bella nodded, her face flushed, and went to the bathroom to freshen up.

They didn’t head out until she was ready, and by then it was already past one o’clock.

In the car, Bella turned her head and asked, "Damian, when does the social event start?"

"Four in the afternoon."

"Oh? Won’t we be late if we head over after eating?" Bella frowned, "And I still need to change and do my makeup."

"It’s fine." Damian said, "If we’re late, we’re late."

Well, even if he’s late, probably no one would dare say anything to him.

Bella stuck out her tongue, "Let’s still hurry up a bit, being late is always impolite."

"Alright." Damian nodded.

"By the way, Damian, will there be anyone I know at today’s social event? Will Cecilia Lynch be there?"

"Not sure. Although the Lynch Family was invited to this event, it’s probably only Jaden Lynch who’s coming."

"Cecilia’s brother?" Bella slightly frowned, thinking of Jaden Lynch reminded her of Vivi Norris.

"Yes. You don’t have to bother with him." Damian said.

"I know." Bella nodded.

"What’s wrong?" Damian noticed her change in mood and asked, turning his head.

Bella shook her head, "Nothing, just thought of someone I don’t like."

"Vivian Norris?"

"Damian, you actually remember Vivian Norris?" Bella couldn’t help but feel a bit jealous when she heard him bring it up, knowing what kind of feelings Vivian held for Damian.

"I happened to look into her last time." Damian said calmly, "Since she bullied you, even if you don’t let me intervene, I should at least know who she is, just in case."

Hearing this, a sweet feeling rose in Bella’s heart, and any earlier jealousy was gone. However, she still said, "Can you guess why Vivian is targeting me?"

"Why?" Damian asked, "Because your acting is better than hers, and she feels threatened?"

"Of course not! I’m just a newcomer, no matter how good my acting is, it couldn’t possibly threaten the career of an award-winning actress." Bella pursed her lips and said, "It’s all because of you."

Damian was puzzled, "Because of me?"
