Chapter 402 - 401: Kiss in the Snow
Others want to look younger and younger, but she actually wants to find ways to look older.
Damian Sinclair found it amusing, "You don’t need to care about what others say."
Bella Acker pouted, "But I want to look more compatible with you."
Damian was taken aback for a moment, his heart suddenly warmed, and even his eyes were filled with a smile.
It turns out she wasn’t really concerned about looking young, but rather about whether she seemed compatible with him.
Damian tightened his grip on her hand, interlocking their fingers, "It’s okay, as long as I like it."
Was... was that a confession?
Bella’s eyes lit up as she turned her head to look at him, giggling as she shook his hand, "Damian, say it again."
"What?" Damian pretended not to understand.
"What you just said." Bella’s eyes crinkled with a smile, "The part where you said you liked it, say it again."
Damian’s lips curved slightly into a smile as he squeezed her small hand, whispering, "We’re outside, don’t tease me."
"I’ll tease you, I’ll tease you, I like hearing it, say it again, what’s the big deal?" Bella restrained her smile, pouting at him.
Damian looked at her too and suddenly pulled her quickly towards a small pavilion in the center of the community.
Bella widened her eyes, "Damian, it’s pitch dark over there with no lights, why are you dragging me there? Ah! You won’t kill me to silence me, will you?"
Damian ignored her, directly pulling her into the dark pavilion, flipping her around and pressing her against the pavilion’s pillar, leaning down to kiss her.
Bella’s chaotic muttering finally ceased.
"Still teasing me?" After kissing her for a while, Damian released her lips and asked in a low voice.
The lighting here was very dim, and they could only see each other’s blurry outlines at such a close distance. But the warmth of their breaths being so close still made one’s heart race and face flush.
Bella dared not meet his intense gaze, slightly turning her head away, murmuring softly, "I’ll tease you."
"Bella, you said it yourself." Damian moved closer to her, nose touching hers, whispering, "You’ll be responsible for the fire you’ve sparked."
Before the words were finished, he kissed her lips again.
Bella was trapped between his chest and the pillar, with nowhere to retreat and nowhere to escape, but she also didn’t want to escape or retreat.
Bella stood on tiptoe, wrapped her arms around his neck, and responded to the kiss.
Their breaths entwined, tightly embracing each other, feeling warm even on such a cold winter night.
After a long time, just when Bella felt she was about to suffocate from lack of oxygen, Damian finally released her lips.
A thin line of silvery moisture lingered on her lips, which Damian’s tongue lightly swept over before pecking her on the corner of the mouth again.
Bella lay in his arms blushing, her mouth slightly open as she panted softly, taking a while to stabilize her breath.
Damian opened his coat to wrap her entirely within his embrace, asking, "Are you cold? If you are, we can head back."
"Not cold." Bella shook her head, looking out from his embrace at the distant warm-colored lights under which white snowflakes were gently drifting, "Ah, it’s snowing."
"Yeah." Damian held her, his gaze turning towards outside the pavilion, "This is the second snowfall of the winter."
"So beautiful," Bella admired, "When I was filming at the movie set it was just dry and cold, no snow at all. Damian, let’s build a snowman tomorrow morning."
