Chapter 394 - 393: Favoring Love Over Family

Damian looked at her and asked, "You like her quite a bit?"

"Yeah. Aunt Rhodes seems to have a great personality." Bella Acker said, "If she truly has a blood relationship with mom, then I’ll have one more family member."

"The world is so big, there are always people who look alike but have no blood ties." Damian said, "Since she resembles Aunt Locke, it’s a connection between you two."

"Exactly, that’s what I think too." Bella Acker nodded with a smile, "Aunt Rhodes said you seem like a really nice person. Next time, let’s take Ethan to visit Aunt Rhodes and Bonnie."

"Alright."

As they talked, they reached the underground parking lot. Damian’s car had a reserved parking space, which was easy to find.

Opening the passenger door, Damian said, "Bella, get in first, I’ll put the stuff in the back."

Following his words, Bella Acker got in without a second thought.

Damian placed the items in the back seat, then quickly pulled out his phone and sent Bea a text message.

The message was simple and straightforward: Just four words, don’t agree.

After sending it, he put away his phone, got into the car nonchalantly, and slowly drove out.

Once out of the parking lot, Bella Acker fished out her phone from her bag, ready to call Bea, "Huh, Damian, did you call me just now? I didn’t hear it."

"Yeah." Damian said, "Call Bella first."

"Okay." Bella Acker dialed Bea’s number. Before she could hear the ringtone, it was already picked up on the other end.

There was no choice; Bea happened to see the text from her brother.

Bella Acker said, "Bella, Damian is off work. We’re going to try on the dresses now and then have dinner. Have you finished seeing the art exhibit? Let’s have dinner together."

Bea was speechless. Her brother had already texted her not to play third wheel. How could she be so unaware?

Tsk tsk, her brother really... If he wants to have dinner alone with someone, he should just say it instead of hiding it from one party and then sending her a text.

C’mon!

Bea silently complained about her brother in her heart and then said, "I made plans with a friend to meet an artist, so I might not have time to come over. You and my brother can have dinner without me."

Hearing that she had something important, Bella Acker couldn’t insist.

"Alright then, remember to have dinner once you’re done, bye-bye." Hanging up, Bella Acker turned her head and said, "Bella said she has to meet an artist and couldn’t come to have dinner with us."

"Yeah." Damian replied without a change in expression, "It’s rare for her to have something important; it’s better not to disturb her." Meanwhile, he thought to himself, his sister was indeed quite understanding. She wouldn’t hesitate to be there when needed, and she’d know when not to be a third wheel. Next time the family tries to set her up on a date, I’ll help her get out of it.

Bella Acker was none the wiser and assumed Bella truly had important matters, feeling a bit guilty, "Was I delaying Bella’s work by asking her to shop with me in the morning? Oh, she probably found it hard to refuse my call. I should’ve known and gone to buy the phone myself without bothering her."

"No worries, she really had nothing to do in the morning." To comfort his girlfriend, Damian casually adjusted his sister’s work schedule, showing no remorse for prioritizing romance over his sister.

"That’s a relief." Bella Acker was finally at ease, "Damian, after we try on the dresses, why not buy groceries and cook dinner at home? It’s been so long since I’ve eaten your cooking."
